Mortgage modification basically means to modify the terms of a mortgage, outside the original terms of the contract agreed to by the mortgagor (lender) and borrower (mortgagee). Mortgage loan modification is similar to mortgage refinance and its main priority is to afford mortgage payment for a financial crisis or bad situation.
