Over the previous six months, (mid to late 2009), lending guidelines for residential mortgages have tightened and the volume of applications fueled by the Federal Tax credit for first time home buyers has increased dramatically. Declining home prices and corresponding interest rates have held steady – each factor in and of itself is certainly a positive, but combined, you get “the perfect storm”.
